Purdue Tundra Server Specification & Access

Tundra is a server located at HAAS 256 for Purdue Freedom Research Lab members to use.

Linux tundra 5.15.0-79-generic #86-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jul 10 16:07:21 UTC 2023 x86_64 GNU/Linux CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4116 CPU @ 2.10GHz (12 cores) Memory: 16GB * 8 GPU: NVIDIA Corporation GP106GL [Quadro P2000] (rev a1)

The server is only accessible through Purdue LAN or VPN. You can setup a sudo account to access the server via SSH.

To do so, access the server at HAAS 256 with the public account tundra (password is on a sticky note to the right of the server machine). Then, run the following command to set up your account:

sudo adduser <username>

You will be prompted to enter a password. You can then add yourself to sudo by:

sudo adduser <username> sudo

You can then test the connection to Tundra on your machine with:

ssh <username>

You are also free to set up an SSH key on your account, if you so prefer.
